Parking
We highly recommend utilizing public transportation during the summer, Winter Wonderfest and Flower & Garden Show. Navy Pier IMAX Theatre does not own or operate the parking garage at Navy Pier, which accommodates only 1,740 cars. If you plan to drive, please give yourself plenty of time to find a parking space. Parking rates range from $14 to $25, depending on how long you visit the pier. If the parking garage at Navy Pier is full, there are remote alternative parking lots available:

The free Navy Pier trolley provides free transportation to and from remote lots.

Transportation Options to Navy Pier

METRA: Metra commuter rail is a convenient travel alternative. On weekends and select holidays, up to 3 children under 12 travel free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. The CTA's #124 bus provides convenient and direct service from Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station to Navy Pier. For Metra fare and schedule information, call 312.836.7000.

City Bus: The CTA provides six bus lines with more than 200 buses that serve Navy Pier daily. These include the #29 (State Street), the #65 (Grand Avenue) which is equipped with bike racks, and the #66 (Chicago Avenue). During weekday rush hours, the #120 (Northwestern/Wacker Express), serving the Ogilvie Transportation Center, and #121 (Union/Wacker Express), serve Navy Pier and their respective METRA train terminals. Additional daily service is provided by the #124 Navy Pier. Running every 15 minutes from Union Station and the Ogilvie Transportation Center, busses operate from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. throughout the summer, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. the rest of the year. Free Trolley: The Illinois-Grand Corridor Transportation Management Association (TMA) offers daily free trolley service between Navy Pier and State Street along Grand Avenue and Illinois Street. Current Trolley are Mondays hrough Thursdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sundays 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Trolleys typically run every 20 minutes. Taxi: Navy Pier has three convenient taxi drop-off and pick-up points. One is at the west end of Navy Pier, serving Dock Street and the Family Pavilion. At the mid-point, Entrance 1 serves the west end of Festival Hall, RIVA, and WBEZ Radio. Entrance 2 serves the east end of Festival Hall, the Grand Ballroom and the Navy Pier Beer Garden.

Boat: In the summer months, Shoreline Sightseeing operates several 42-seat water taxi boats between Navy Pier and the Museum Campus. In addition, a Shoreline Shuttle taxi service operates between the Pier and the Loop (near Sears Tower and Adams Street) via the Chicago River.
