Star Trek Into Darkness is set to open on 3D IMAX screen two days before it goes on general release, it has been confirmed. The giant screen exhibitor will screen the latest installment of the franchise internationally on April 25. TORONTO – Marvel Entertainment’s Iron Man 3 is to be super-sized for release on Imax screens internationally, from April 25. IMAX to convert Smithsonian to laser projection

IMAXWASHINGTON — IMAX Corp. is beginning an initiative to transition museum-based theaters to new laser digital projection, beginning with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. IMAX is announcing plans Tuesday to upgrade the Smithsonian's three theaters in 2014. New technology uses lasers instead of light bulbs to light giant movie screens.
