IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Columbia Pictures today announced that The Amazing Spider-Man™ generated approximately $24 million in 444 IMAX® theatres worldwide since the film's global release on June 27. Domestically, the film grossed approximately $14.3 million in 307 IMAX theatres since its debut on July 3. Following in the footsteps of Christopher Nolan and Brad Bird, director Francis Lawrence is planning to utilize the big big screen for the anticipated sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
