Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming film The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington will get the IMAX® treatment.
If you have ever seen a movie in IMAX in the past, whether it was in 3-D or not, you know that IMAX is one of the most immersive experiences that a moviegoer can have.
The picture quality, and the sheer size of the screen, is truly something to behold. Couple this with the incredible surround sound experience that IMAX brings, and you almost feel as if you are a part of the movie.
Now, it would seem as if another upcoming film is about to receive the IMAX treatment.
According to a press release issued today, Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming thriller The Equalizer will be receiving an IMAX release.
In the press release Greg Foster, who is the Senior Executive Vice President of IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment, praised both Fuqua and the film’s leading actor Denzel Washington as well as expressed his excitement to be partnering on the project.

Last night I was able to speak with Greg Foster (President of IMAX Entertainment) on the red carpet at the world premiere of Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Age of Extinction in Hong Kong. As we previously reported, Bay used the new IMAX® 4K 3D digital cameras to shoot a tremendous amount of Transformers 4, and when you see it in IMAX® about 60% of the movie will use the full IMAX® aspect ratio. It’s absolutely the best way to experience this movie.
