IMAX® theatres are specifically designed to deliver the world's most immersive movie experience. Crystal-clear images combined with IMAX's powerful digital sound and customized theatre geometry create "The IMAX Experience®," making audiences feel as if they are IN the movie.

Digital Projection System
IMAX's new digital projection system is designed to create the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® in a digital format, without the need for expensive film prints. The new system integrates a suite of proprietary IMAX technologies with dual digital projectors, IMAX's powerful audio system and IMAX's customized theatre geometry that puts you IN the movie. All theatres equipped with IMAX's digital projection systems are capable of both IMAX and IMAX® 3D presentations.

IMAX® 3D
IMAX 3D is the most realistic and immersive cinematic 3D in the world. IMAX's customized theatre geometry combined with IMAX's revolutionary projection technology and powerful audio system creates an environment that puts audiences IN the movie.

The IMAX Theatre Network
There are currently 394 theatres operating in 44 countries utilizing IMAX, IMAX 3D and IMAX Dome technology.

Maintenance
The outstanding reliability of IMAX systems (99.8 per cent average each year over the last 10 years) reflects a number of factors, including continued dedication to the development of the technology on a custom-made rather than production-line basis. The maintenance plan includes an extensive first year warranty, followed by a world-class preemptive service program which begins on the day the theatre is commissioned and extends throughout the life of the system.
