We are excited to announce that TOP GUN is going to be released in IMAX® 3D theatres for the first time ever. Paramount Pictures’ 1986 classic from director Tony Scott, producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and starring Tom Cruise, takes off on a new adventure with an exclusive six-day 3D engagement in select IMAX® theatres for a limited engagement beginning February 8, 2013.
Star Trek fans are in for a big surprise this holiday season. Exclusively in digital IMAX® 3D theatres, Paramount Pictures will release an IMAX Exclusive Preview of J.J. Abrams’ eagerly-awaited STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS months prior to the film’s official release in May 2013. This first-look at the movie will play in approximately 500 digital IMAX® 3D theatres beginning December 14th.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS is the sequel to Abrams’ 2009 hit film that redefined the Star Trek universe for a new generation. This extended preview is only the third first-look to be released in IMAX, and now is your opportunity to see it first.
Our longtime partners J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and the Bad Robot team have hit it out of the park with this incredible footage. Their use of the IMAX® Camera and canvas is sure to impress current and future Star Trek fans alike. We’re thrilled to work with Paramount Pictures on an extended first-look of this highly-anticipated summer movie.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS used IMAX cameras to capture several sequences, which will expand to fill more of the IMAX screen with unprecedented crispness and clarity, putting moviegoers right into the explosive action and vast scope of the film.
