As the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz approaches, there’s no better way to premiere this landmark film and one of Hollywood’s most precious jewels, than to return it to the TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly Grauman’s Chinese Theater) where the original premiere was held in 1939.
The film arrives at the most perfect time – the TCL Chinese Theatre has undergone its first major makeover in more than 85 years which included the addition of Hollywood’s first IMAX theatre.
For one week only, fans will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness this classic tale exclusively in IMAX® 3D. America’s favorite characters – the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, faithful little Toto and the curious Dorothy have been enhanced through IMAX’s digital re-mastering process and converted to 3D for the first time ever. Dorothy’s red slippers will sparkle and shine like never before.
