In this Imax film, a rebuilt steam locomotive chugs eastward from Vancouver, as we learn about the improbable project to build a railway across Canada. The history lesson is interrupted by spectacular scenery and a few thrilling sequences from the front of the engine. The story of the trans-Canada railroad has been told many times, but there's a special lift in watching it from the front of old 2816, a class H1b Hudson-type locomotive. Back in the 1930s, 2816 pulled passenger trains between Winnipeg and Calgary. The companies also said they are exploring a broader alliance that may include marketing, distribution and co-financing efforts to support institutional IMAX exhibitors with a steady flow of the highest-quality large-format documentaries. LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - In case "Men in Black 3" wasn't big enough, Sony's making it even bigger: The studio will release its big-budget 3D feature in IMAX, it announced Monday. In a written statement, Sony Pictures president of worldwide distribution Rory Bruer said that releasing the movie in IMAX 3D "signals an event release."It's the first "Men in Black" film to be released on IMAX.
