Paranormal Activity 4 Goes Big With IMAX Release

By Kristy Puchko 에 시월 9, 2012

This October marks the fourth year in a row that Paramount Pictures has terrorized audiences with a new entry in their wildly successful found footage franchise Paranormal Activity. Already the series that focuses on the demonic exploits that plague one doomed family has earned more than $575 million worldwide. To be sure their latest installment, Paranormal Activity 4, scores with audiences, Paramount brought back Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (of Catfish fame/infamy), the cheered co-helmers of the surprisingly sharp prequel Paranormal Activity 3, to continue to grow the world of these freaky films. But to give their box office an additional boost, the studio is also offering an IMAX release of killer Katie's latest adventure.

Variety
reports that Paranormal Activity 4 is being digitally re-mastered with a reworked sound and image quality suitable to the immensity of IMAX presentation. While the film will open nationwide October 19th, kicking off with sure to be spirited midnight screenings, its IMAX version will launch at about 300 locations as early as October 18th at 9PM. So keep all this in mind while deciding on which Paranormal Activity 4 ticket you want to buy.

‘Frankenweenie’ in IMAX: See it early, free, with Martin Landau

By The LA Times Hero Complex Staff 에 구월 24, 2012

Most moviegoers will have to wait until Oct. 5 to get spooked by “Frankenweenie,” but a few hundred Hero Complex readers will get to see Tim Burton’s monster movie homage early Thursday night at our free IMAX screening in Century City. The special screening of the black-and-white, stop-motion animated film will include a Q&A with Oscar winner Martin Landau, who voices Vincent Price-inspired science teacher Mr. Rzykruski, moderated by Hero Complex contributor Rebecca Keegan.

A remake of Burton’s 1984 short film of the same name, “Frankenweenie” is about a boy named Victor who loses his dog and deploys science to bring the beloved canine back to life. The film features the voices of Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder and Landau, in his first collaboration with Burton since 1994′s “Ed Wood.” (Check back soon for an in-depth interview with Burton about the film.)
