 IMAX Entertainment President Megan Colligan Hires Mo Rhim and James Toney in

Newly Created Roles Focused on Enhancing Content Strategy and Accelerating Growth


LOS ANGELES, CA – June 13, 2019 – IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) today announced the addition of two Senior Vice Presidents to its IMAX Entertainment division, tasked with enhancing the Company’s content strategy and the immersive experiences offered across its global platform throughout more than 80 territories worldwide.


Mo Rhim and James Toney both join IMAX as Senior Vice President, in newly created roles where they will oversee content strategy, partnerships and innovation for the IMAX Entertainment division. Rhim and Toney, having worked with Paramount Pictures and 21st Century Fox respectively, bring deep experience in helping global brands create new experiences and build deeper connections with consumers through technology. At IMAX, they will focus on strengthening the Company’s core business through creative partnerships and programming that leverage its platform. They will also explore initiatives to enhance the Company’s direct relationship with its consumers, and apply data and insights to drive growth. Rhim and Toney will report directly to Megan Colligan, President, IMAX Entertainment and EVP IMAX Corp.

Most recently, Mo Rhim served as the Senior Vice President, International Digital Marketing at Paramount Pictures, working across regional and territory offices on all international theatrical releases. At Paramount, Rhim built a team and developed new digital strategies and operational frameworks and leveraged her expertise in the latest data and marketing technology. Earlier, Rhim spent 11 years at Google, working across five offices helping to found and grow several teams. Most recently, she was the Head of Industry, Media & Entertainment North America, overseeing all DoubleClick Platforms and leading several first-of-kind global deals while empowering organizations to utilize technology platforms to drive business outcomes.

Previously, James Toney served as the Senior Vice President of Technology and Innovation for 21st Century Fox, setting the studio’s strategy around emerging technology. At Fox, Toney spearheaded initiatives focused on big data, leveraging AI to enhance the creative process, and developing new business ideas.

Before working at Fox, Toney co-founded and served as Chief Strategist for Sew, an award-winning L.A.-based creative agency (acquired by Ready Set Rocket). He led brand, marketing, technology, and strategy projects for Fortune 1000 brands like Verizon, Ford, Gap, and Pernod Ricard. In 2015, James was named to Forbes 30 under 30 list for his Marketing achievements with Sew. Toney is also a founding member of the Creative Alliance, a consortium of agencies that worked in partnership with the Obama White House to advance civic engagement.
