THEATRE HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES

The COVID-19 outbreak has impacted every aspect of our lives, from the way we live and work to the way we interact with others. As we reopen our theatre, we recognize that we will be operating under a new sense of normalcy. During this period, we want to assure our guests that we have taken precautions to combat the spread of the virus in our facilities. Our top priority is to protect the health and safety of our guests, employees, and communities.

HAND WASHING: All staff members must properly and frequently wash their hands at a minimum of once every hour. Hands must be washed between each change of gloves. We advise all guests to frequently and thoroughly wash their hands while refraining from touching their face. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the facility for guests and at each staff work position.

DISINFECT HIGH-CONTACT SURFACES: Designated staff members, in PPE, will regularly disinfect high-contact surfaces (door handles, counter tops, faucets, kiosks, railings, etc.) with a medical-grade sanitizing agent at a minimum of once every 30 minutes. We will also maintain nightly deep cleaning of all auditoriums, bathrooms and high-traffic areas.

SAFE SOCIAL DISTANCING: All staff members and guests must practice and maintain appropriate physical distancing as recommended by the CDC and local health authorities. Safe social distancing stickers have been placed on the ground to ensure that guests are maintaining a healthy distance of at least 6-feet apart while waiting in lines. Installed plexiglass partitions between guest and staff where possible.

REMAIN AT HOME IF YOU ARE SICK: All staff members will be screened and are required to give a verbal disclosure they are not sick and have not been in close contact with anyone experiencing signs of sickness.

WEAR PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: All staff members must wear protective equipment adhering to CDC recommended standards. Protective equipment will be provided by the Theatre at no cost to staff members.

FACE COVERINGS: Face masks are required in all public areas. They may be removed when eating, drinking, and while seated for your movie.

PAYMENT POLICY: To limit guest contact, we are encouraging the use of credit cards for payment throughout the facility. This helps to eliminate the exchange of bills and coins.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR NEXT VISIT TO THE IMAX THEATRE

THEATRE ENTRANCE SCREENING

This question will be asked of all guests and employees before entering the theater:
“Within the past 14 days have you, or anyone you have been in close contact with, experienced any symptoms of illness such as fever, chills, dry cough, shortness of breath or sore throat?” (If yes, you will not be allowed in the theater and we will reimburse you your ticket.)

TICKETS/AUDITORIUM PROCEDURES

ONLINE TICKET PURCHASE: All guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets through our website in order to maintain contactless payment methods.

REDUCED THEATRE CAPACITY: Seating arrangements will follow all social distancing protocols. 2-seats will remain empty between each seat sold with every-other-row empty. If you come with a family, you may sit together, but respect others and maintain a healthy social distance. Auditorium exiting will be one row at a time to encourage proper separation.

3D GLASSES: We will use “single-use” 3D Glasses sealed in a plastic bag and distributed by a staff member wearing PPE.

CLEANING: Increase time between shows in order to clean and sanitize all seats, armrests, cupholders, and railings.

FOOD/CONCESSIONS PROCEDURES

FOOD HANDLING: Staff members have been trained in proper food-handling protocols in order to reduce person to person contact. Condiments will only be served upon request and will not be self-served. A limited menu will be offered to ensure that we are able to maintain the safest possible food-handling environment. We will provide a new popcorn bucket and soda cup for all refills in order to reduce touch points.

SOCIAL DISTANCING: Safe social distancing stickers have been placed on the ground to ensure that guests are maintaining a healthy distance of at least 6-feet apart while waiting in lines.

RESTROOM PROCEDURES

SOCIAL DISTANCE: Restricting the number of guests allowed in the restroom at the same time to adhere to Social Distancing recommendations. Safe social distancing decals have been placed on the ground to ensure that guests are maintaining a healthy distance of at least 6-feet apart while waiting in lines. Reducing the number of sinks, stalls, and urinals in use to ensure proper separation.

CLEANLINESS: Designated staff members, in PPE, regularly disinfect restrooms. Touch-free restroom paper towel dispensers are in use. Hand sanitizer is available in the restrooms for guests and staff use.
