Hey, IMAX fans! Welcome to a new season — and a new year of Friday Feature.
Last week we celebrated our year anniversary of the series, so what better way to keep the ball rolling than with highlights from an exciting event hosted by none-other than Michael Bay, himself.
Held here at the IMAX Playa Vista Headquarters on March 21, Bay played host to a group of global super fans from New York City to San Francisco to Melbourne to the U.K., all of whom had the opportunity to interact with Bay as he chatted, signed posters, even personal artwork brought by the fans themselves.
Perhaps most exciting was the opportunity for fans to experience approximately 20 minutes of footage in IMAX from Bay’s upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight — for which Bay actually shot select sequences using IMAX® cameras and will be presented in an expanded aspect ratio exclusive to IMAX.
Bay introduced the footage followed by a casual Q & A with the director. The event truly was a one-of-a-kind experience that allowed some of the most die-hard fans express their passion for the franchise.

But that’s not all!
Just days later, Bay, Paramount and IMAX announced that they will partner again to host a one-night-only fan event on April 4 at 7 p.m. featuring an exclusive first look at stunning footage from the film captured with IMAX cameras and screened in IMAX® theatres across 28 North American cities.
