On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames; _The Black Phone_, _For All Mankind_) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society. With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (BAFTA nominee Nico Parker; _Dumbo_, _The Last of Us_) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost; _Snow White and the Huntsman_, _Shaun of the Dead_) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding. As an ancient threat emerges, endangering both Vikings and dragons, Hiccup’s friendship with Toothless becomes the key to forging a new future. Together, they must navigate the delicate path toward peace, soaring beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefining what it means to be a hero and a leader. _How to Train Your Dragon is part of the_ [_Filmed For IMAX®_](/filmed-for-imax) _program._ Director: Dean DeBlois Studio: Universal Pictures, Runtime: 125 minutes * * * Filmed For IMAX --------------- Soar through the skies in full fantasy immersion when you experience HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON in IMAX.   ### Learn More ### How to Train Your Dragon SDP > FFI Module > Title Card/Trailer ![Hiccup (Mason Thames) and Astrid (Nico Parker) take to the skies on Toothless in 'How to Train Your Dragon' (2025).](/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.ctfassets.net%2Fc4ucztjx9pmu%2F3GEslJ43D5SK7di0LKfZNP%2F1358f48f63ff1e3c089144997078b220%2F2569_FP_01208.jpg&w=512&q=75) Three-time Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe® winner Dean DeBlois returns to the Isle of Berk to direct this live action reimagining of his beloved franchise.
