It’s the gold standard and what any other technology has to match up to, but none have." - Christopher Nolan_ A legend comes to life in IMAX. THE ODYSSEY is the first feature film shot entirely with IMAX Film Cameras, including the new IMAX Keighley Film Camera, named after the late David Keighley, IMAX's Chief Quality Officer, and his wife Patricia. IMAX also invented a new camera casing affectionately called the “blimp," a breakthrough that enabled dialogue scenes to be captured with synchronized sound on large-format film for the first time at scale. Oscar-winning cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema called it “the most essential piece of equipment on this production.” Shooting 2.1 million feet of film, THE ODYSSEY is truly an epic tale of cinematic craftsmanship designed to be experienced in IMAX.
