Within a short period, trolleys revolutionized cities—yet today, only a few urban centres still use them. Traveling from Milan to Hong Kong and featuring the TTC’s Red Rocket fleet through the years, this immersive cinema experience traces the invention, popularization and decline of a marvel of modern technology. Created specifically for IMAX presentation by Stephen Low (son of IMAX inventor and documentary pioneer Colin Low), it’s a musical journey through the decades, a love letter to a bygone era—and a vision for a tram-filled future. As the world becomes increasingly urbanized and planners seek sustainable means of transportation, could the trolley see a resurgence? The IMAX release of _The Trolley_ will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
