FRIDAY FEATURE: How La La Land Continues Shining Legacy for IMAX at the Golden Globes
=====================================================================================

Happy Friday, IMAX fans!

In case you missed Sunday’s shenanigans at the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards, Lionsgate’s _**La La Land**_ danced away with a record-setting number of trophies—SEVEN—including for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), Actor, Actress, Director, Screenplay, Original Score and Song.

Trivia tid-bit: La La Land beat previous record-holders, _Midnight Express_ (1978) and _One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest_ (1975), both of which had six wins apiece.

The cool thing about the clean-sweep for _La La Land_, which sashays into select IMAX® theatres starting today, is just how the film fits within an illustrious legacy of IMAX movies at the Golden Globes.

_La La Land_—which also was nominated in the Musical or Comedy category alongside fellow 2016 IMAX release, _**Deadpool**_—marks the fourth film that was released in IMAX to walk away with a Best Picture Golden Globe award. Those past winners include: _**The Revenant**_ and _**The Martian**_, both of which won last year for Drama and Musical/Comedy, respectively; and _**Avatar**_.

Also, a slew of other past IMAX releases have been nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globes, including _**Mad Max: Fury Road**_, _**Gravity**_, _**Captain Phillips**_, _**Life of Pi**_, _**Alice in Wonderland**_ and _**Inception**_.

Quite the list!

Special shout-out: While it wasn’t nominated in the general Best Picture category, a big congratulations to Disney’s _**Zootopia**_, which nabbed the Animated Feature Golden Globe and was released in IMAX early last year.

Make sure you see _La La Land_ this weekend in IMAX and help be a part of history! See you there!
