Entering its second weekend in IMAX® theatres, Clint Eastwood’s newest master work _Sully_, starring IMAX alum Tom Hanks, whose next film _Inferno_ opens in IMAX theatres on Oct. 28, marks one of the fall’s most-not-to-be-missed films—especially in IMAX.

That’s because, most notably, Eastwood chose to shoot the majority of the film—from beginning to end—with IMAX cameras, the only film to date to have done so.

_Sully_ is the newest addition to an esteemed—and steadily growing—list of Hollywood films to have used the proprietary equipment.

In addition to the cameras, _Sully_ features an expanded aspect ratio exclusive to IMAX.

These added features are just part of what make The IMAX Experience® so special—and our awesome legacy of IMAX films to have used IMAX cameras speaks for itself.

Most recently, director Zack Snyder used IMAX cameras to capture some of the most explosive scenes in the record-setting _Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice_. The same goes for the Russo brothers’ _Captain America: Civil War_, which used for the first time the new ALEXA IMAX® 65mm cameras.

Other past memorable films to have used IMAX cameras include director Brad Bird’s _Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol_ ; Christopher Nolan’s entire _Dark Knight_ trilogy, as well as _Interstellar_; Michael Bay’s _Transformers: Age of Extinction_; and Francis Lawrence’s _The Hunger Games: Catching Fire_. (Remember the pivotal scene when Katniss first emerges from the elevator into the arena? IMAX cameras.)

But, to date, the grand-daddy of them all—_Star Wars: The Force Awakens_. Two words: Millennium Falcon!

We’ve already announced that Marvel’s final two _Avengers_ installments will use IMAX cameras, as will Nolan’s highly anticipated WWII film _Dunkirk_—three films that are sure to land on similar future lists of incomparable titles filmed with IMAX cameras.
