Congratulations! La La Land and Other IMAX Titles Land Oscar Nominations
========================================================================

Oscar nominations are in and a HUGE **congratulations** to Lionsgate’s _La La Land_, which is leading the pack with a record-tying 14 nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay as well as nods for its leading stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

The film, which received a special limited engagement in IMAX theatres this month, tied previous record-nomination holders, _Titanic_ and _All About Eve_.

_La La Land_ scored additional nods for cinematography, film editing, production design, costume design, score and two separate bids for original song for “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” and “City of Stars” — the latter of which was featured on the back-side of an exclusive IMAX poster given away at opening weekend screenings of _La La Land_ in IMAX.

In addition to _La La Land_, several other films which received IMAX runs managed to make the Oscar shortlist:

Those films are Disney’s _Zootopia_ for Animated Feature, _Rogue One: A Star Wars Story_ (Sound Mixing, Visual Effects), _Doctor Strange_ (Visual Effects) and _The Jungle Book_ (Visual Effects); Warner Bros.’ _Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them_ (Costume Design, Production Design), _Sully_ (Sound Editing) and _Suicide Squad_ (Makeup and Hairstyling); Paramount’s _Star Trek Beyond_ (Makeup and Hairstyling); and Lionsgate’s _Deepwater Horizon_ (Sound Editing, Visual Effects).

There is a total of 26 nominations for films with IMAX releases (spread across 10 films total).
