"We're thrilled to join IMAX in showcasing this one-of-a-kind film in such a grand format. We look forward to giving our customers an unforgettable theatrical experience high above the clouds." Key action sequences in _The Aeronauts_ were designed for IMAX and will feature IMAX expanded aspect ratio, which means audiences will get to see up to 26% more picture than standard theaters, only in IMAX. "Today's announcement with Amazon, which marks our first significant venture of this kind connected with a full theatrical release, is an important step in our continued effort to provide a global platform to launch diverse, premium event content every single week of the year," said President, IMAX Entertainment, Megan Colligan. "Tom designed this movie for the IMAX screen and the result is going to blow audiences away. This film, inspired by incredible true events, offers heart-pounding intense sequences that are woven so wonderfully with the beauty, scale and emotion of these two characters as they go on their epic journey." Additional cast include Oscar nominee Tom Courtenay (_45 Years_), BAFTA nominee Anne Reid (_The Last Tango in Halifax_), BAFTA winner Rebecca Front (_The Thick of It_), Vincent Perez (_Riviera_), Tim McInnerny (_Peterloo_, _Notting Hill_), Phoebe Fox (_Eye in the Sky_, _One Day_) and Himesh Patel (_Yesterday_). Director of Photography is BAFTA winner George Steel _(War & Peace_, _Peaky Blinders_), with costumes by Academy Award-winner Alexandra Bryne (_Mary Queen of Scots_, _Doctor_) and hair and make-up by Academy Award-winner Jenny Shircore (_Beauty and the Beast,_ _Macbeth_).  Production designers are David Hindle (_The Death of Stalin_, _The Theory of Everything_) and Christian Huband (_Edge of Tomorrow_, _Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them_). Louis Morin (_Arrival_, _The House with a Clock on its Walls_) is the VFX Supervisor. As previously announced, Amazon Studios will release _Late Night_, written, produced and starring Mindy Kaling, nationwide in theaters on June 7, Nanfu Wang and Jialing Zhang's _One Child Nation_ on August 9, and Paul Downs Colaizzo's _Brittany Runs a Marathon_, starring Jillian Bell, on August 23 in select theaters. The IMAX release of _The Aeronauts_ will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theater geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that helps audiences feel as if they are in the movie. **About Amazon Studios **Amazon Studios brings bold and innovative series and films from top tier and up-and-coming creators to customers in over 200 countries and territories.
