(Nasdaq:DWA), which features the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera and Jonah Hill, will open in 186 domestic IMAX(R)theatres simultaneously with the film's wide release on March 26, 2010. The film will also open in 38 IMAX theatres internationally this weekend, and ultimately should play in approximately 80 international IMAX theatres over the course of its run. The special IMAX(R) 3D release has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience(R) with IMAX DMR(R) (Digital Re-Mastering) technology. "Through the characters and worlds of How to Train Your Dragon, we hope to take audiences on a fantastic and adventure-filled journey," commented Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, Directors of How to Train Your Dragon. "The high-flying flight sequences and ultimately the heart-felt emotional connection between our hero, Hiccup, and his dragon, are heightened in IMAX 3D in ways that pull audiences even deeper into our story. We're very excited to share it with the world." "How to Train Your Dragon reflects DreamWorks Animation's continued talent for delivering creative and immersive 3D content to audiences," said IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond. "This film is particularly well-suited to IMAX and fits nicely into our Spring lineup. We look forward to entertaining our growing audience throughout its run." "DreamWorks Animation has a unique story-telling style that has consistently appealed to audiences around the world, and we're looking forward to transporting them into the film's exciting world of Vikings and fire-breathing dragons through The IMAX Experience," added Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. From the studio that brought you Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda, comes How to Train Your Dragon. Set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, and based on the book by Cressida Cowell, the action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn't exactly fit in with his tribe's longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup's world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view. How to Train Your Dragon is based on the book by Cressida Cowell and is directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois and produced by Bonnie Arnold. The film features the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, TJ Miller and Kristen Wiig.
