TORONTO, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Imax Corporation (Nasdaq: IMAX; Toronto: IMX) today announced the appointment of John M. Davison to President, Imax Ltd. effective immediately. Davison will retain his title of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Imax Corporation and will continue to work closely with the CEOs and senior management to help implement the strategic direction of the Company.

Davison joined Imax in 1987 as Director, Corporate Development. In 1991, he became Vice President, Finance and in 1995 became Sr. Vice President, Finance and Administration. In 1997, he was given the position of Executive Vice President, Operations and CFO, responsible for the financial affairs, human resources, administration and affiliate relations activities of the company. In January 1999, Mr. Davison became Chief Operating Officer. Imax Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of Imax Corporation, is responsible for the functions of system leasing, film marketing and distribution, system maintenance, camera rental and marketing and administration.
