Hey there, IMAX fans!
This week, IMAX, in partnership with Collider, hosted its fourth event in a year-long series of fan screenings that focus on both classic and new IMAX films.
This time, fans were treated to a special early screening of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War in IMAX!
The screening — a packed house held at the AMC Loews 34th Street IMAX theatre in New York — saw in attendance the Russo brothers who, after the screening, graciously sat through a Q&A moderated by Collider’s Steve ‘Frosty’ Weintraub. During the Q&A, the Russos doled out some behind-the-scenes insight from Captain America: Civil War, talking about what it’s like to work with some of the actors, the casting of Spider-Man, even what’s up with The Winter Soldier’s hair-do. (Check back with Collider online early next week for the full video.)
We love hosting this series — which thus far has included screenings of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2, Deadpool, as well as the Russo brothers’ earlier Marvel epic, Captain America: The Winter Soldier — because they’re really all about the fans.
And boy do they commit!
For this week’s screening, fans started lining up five hours in advance — in the rain!
What’s more, it seemed nearly everyone left satisfied, with some audience members calling Captain America: Civil War the best superhero movie they’ve ever seen!
And in IMAX, the experience is even more intense, with the Russos using IMAX® cameras to shoot a key action sequence from the film.
Make sure you check back with Collider, as well as here on IMAX.com for more upcoming events in the Collider-IMAX screening series.
