When seeing a movie in an IMAX theatre, it’s like seeing a different movie altogether. Everything from the movie itself to the theatre’s technology and design has been developed and customized to make you believe you’re part of the action. One of the key ingredients to creating The IMAX Experience is IMAX DMR, or digital re-mastering.
There are two ways to create an IMAX movie. It can either be captured with the extremely high resolution IMAX cameras or go through IMAX’s proprietary DMR process to enhance the film’s image and audio.
