Apr 20, 2015

IMAX Corp. said Monday that it reached an agreement with Warner Bros. Pictures to release up to 30 films over the next five years, continuing the companies’ 10-year partnership.

Under the agreement, IMAX will release movies including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Tarzan movie and future Lego movies.

Earlier this month, IMAX reached a three-year deal with Walt Disney

DIS -0.21% Studios that covers animated and live-action films such as the new “Star Wars” movie.

The movie-theater chain, which has been planning to open new theaters in China in the second half of the year, has said it would sell a 20% stake in its Chinese business this year to two China-focused investors, a deal that IMAX hopes will pave the way for expansion and an eventual public listing.
