IMAX Corp. Mid-Quarter Box Office Update

IMAX today commented that first quarter 2012 box office through February 12, 2012, was approximately $55 million, compared to approximately $38 million in the prior year period.  First quarter box office to date was primarily driven by Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, which has grossed $27.5 million in the first quarter (and nearly $70 million worldwide to date), $11.5 million from Underworld: Awakening, $8.7 million from Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and $3.7 million for the Chinese film Flying Swords of Dragon Gate ($10 million cumulative box office to date).
