TORONTO, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - IMAX Corporation (Nasdaq: IMAX; TSX: IMX) announced today that it has commenced an offer to exchange up to US$160,000,000 aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 9 5/8% Senior Notes due 2010 ("Old Notes") for a like principal amount of its 9 5/8% Senior Notes due 2010 (the "Registered Notes") that have been registered under the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended. The exchange offer will expire at 5:00 p.m., U.S. Eastern Standard Time, on November 4, 2004, unless extended by the Company. In November 2003, the Company signed a purchase agreement for the sale of U.S.$160 million in aggregate principal amount of Old Notes. Using the proceeds of the offering of Old Notes, in January 2004, the Company concluded the purchase and redemption of the Company's outstanding 7 7/8% senior notes due December 2005. The Company's registration statement relating to the Registered Notes was declared to be effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 30, 2004.
