Filmmaker, Christopher Nolan has captured the majority of Dunkirk with IMAX’s extremely high-resolution 2D film cameras to deliver IMAX audiences greater scope and breathtaking image quality. When you experience Dunkirk in an IMAX theatre, these sequences will expand vertically to fill the entire IMAX screen and show audiences up to 40% more of the image with unprecedented crispness, clarity and color for a truly immersive experience.
IMAX is presenting special engagements of Dunkirk in select theatres on IMAX 70MM film – a riveting and unique way to see this film. Fans who attend the first showing of Dunkirk in IMAX 70MM on July 20th will receive an exclusive shirt, while supplies last.
Additionally, select theatres will be presenting Dunkirk in IMAX with laser a re-imagination of the movie theatre experience capable of projecting an image with up to a 1.43:1 aspect ratio.
Advance tickets for IMAX 70MM special engagements will be available for purchase on Wednesday, July 5th. Advance tickets for all other IMAX presentations of Dunkirk go on sale Friday, July 7th.
